zombie makeup men

Halloween is finally around the corner. Alongside watching Hocus Pocus on repeat (it's a legal requirement, really), gearing up for the special Strictly Halloween episode and consuming all the Halloween candy, there's also one major question: which makeup look should you go for?
Finding an awesome makeup look can be easy – but finding one that doesn't require makeup artist-level skills? Not quite so simple. It's the one time of the year that you can go all-out and yet, it can feel a bit overwhelming deciding which look to do that won't look... well, naff.
So, we've dug around social media to find some of the most impressive yet simple Halloween makeup looks to do.
From Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn and Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent to more traditional options like a zombie bride or funky pop art, we've collected a wide range of Halloween makeup looks to suit all skill levels. Follow one of these and people will think you'll have planned your look months ago.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Harley Quinn, Suicide Squad
Suicide Squad's Harley Quinn is still one of the most popular Halloween costumes around. The beauty of this look is that it requires zero precision. In fact, it encourages some mess.
Buff your red and blue eyeshadows on without the worry of blending out the edges. For your lips, apply a bold red lipstick and smudge out the edges. And just like that, you're good to go.

Easy Halloween Makeup: Carnival Ring Leader
OK, this looks hard AF but it actually requires ZERO makeup skills, trust me.
Done by Halloween makeup queen Desi Perkins, this look started with Desi applying her usual glam makeup as the base. When she was done, she put on Face Lace stickers on one side of her face and down her neck to look like an exposed skull. Yes guys, those are STICKERS. Genius. If you want to try it, check out these options from ASOS.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Zombie Bride
Another one that doesn't require being neat, make like Mean Girl's Cady Heron and go for a zombie bride makeup look.
Outline your eyes in layers of deep purple and black eyeshadow to make them look sunken in. Feel free to take some black eyeshadow across your forehead for a dirty just-climbed-out-of-a-grave-vibe, too.
Then, take a red lipstick, smudge it onto your lips and take it down your neck and arms, too. Messy but super effective.

Easy Halloween Makeup: Euphoria
Euphora quickly became known for its incredible and out-there makeup looks.
While Doniella Davy, the show's makeup artist, created some incredible yet intricate eye looks, there were some simpler options that are just as impactful. Take this eyeliner moment by Maddy. She has winged eyeliner but for an extra Euphoria touch, Doniella applied rhinestones along the liner.
Her inspiration? "I wanted Maddy's liner to be reminiscent of a shiny 🔪 when the light hits it b/c of the way she cuts through everyone's bullsh*t in this episode," she wrote in the caption. Iconic, really.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Wednesday Addams, Addams Family
This look (literally) screams Wednesday-Addams-but-make-it-chic. To contour, opt for a cool-toned bronzer for a more corpse-like finish and take it under your eyes, too. A black lipstick is also a must for this look.
When you're done, you can't step out of the house without styling your hair into Wednesday's signature braids.

Easy Halloween Makeup: Creepy Clown
Clowns have always been a popular makeup choice for Halloween, especially after the revival of IT.
While this look does require some skills with blending, it's not as hard as it looks. Influencer Danielle Marcan posted a step-by-step Instagram Reel of how she achieved this clown makeup.
Plus, you can pick and choose which shades you want to use, and the result is truly worth it.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Maleficent, Sleeping Beauty
Yes, Angelina Jolie's take on Maleficent required some fake facial prosthetics but you can still achieve a pretty accurate take on the Disney villain without any.
The key to this look is strong, harsh eyebrows, a bold red lip and coloured contact lenses. To achieve Maleficent's signature cheekbones, face the mirror face-on and add layers of contour until you get the same chiselled effect. Remember, this look isn't about achieving a subtle, blended finish so go all out.

Easy Halloween Makeup: Beth Harmon, The Queen's Gambit
The Queen's Gambit is one of the biggest Netflix shows around, so channelling your inner Beth Harmon could be a great idea.
To step into the shows of the chess whizz, all you need to do is scribble white eyeliner onto your lower lash line to re-create Anna Taylor-Joy's wide eyes, draw on an exaggerated Cupid's bow and top it all off with a red wig.
It might help to carry a chessboard around, too, but you might want to glue down the pieces.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Pop Art
If you aren't keen to go down the scary route, opt for something bright and fun like a pop art look.
The key tool to this look is a good black liquid eyeliner. Use it to draw on your eyebrows, to contour, as lip liner and even to outline the tears dripping from your eyes.
Once you're done, use a bright liquid lipstick and dab it in circles around your face. For extra impact, take the dots down your neck and shoulders (just be sure to cleanse properly when you get home!) and add on a bright wig.

Easy Halloween Makeup: Storm, X-Men
In all honesty, this Halloween makeup look is all about the hair. Find a white/platinum silver wig and you're already half way there.
For your makeup, you can go for a glam look like Makeup by Shayla, or keep it natural like Halle Berry's interpretation in the X-Men movies. Either way, you'll nail it if you get those eerie contact lenses.
Easy Halloween Makeup: Ursula, The Little Mermaid
I don't know about you but when I think of fear in my childhood, The Little Mermaid's Ursula always springs to mind. That scene of her getting IMPALED by a boat? Seriously, I'm still scarred.
But if you want to recreate the look of Disney's most popular villain, it's not as hard as it might seem. Apply purple-toned eyeshadow all over your face and go to town with her colourful makeup.
Clearly, she was a fan of 90s beauty trends, judging by her blue eyeshadow, red lip and extremely thin eyebrows. Maybe Ursula has been a beauty icon all along?
